The Flag

By: George “Sen One” Morillo

This colorful yet complicated take on the American flag is meant to symbolize the immigrant view of American society. Unpainted parts illustrate missing family and friends left behind or sent back to their countries of birth. Complicated color schemes show an uncertain view of life in America, with bright colors embodying the hopes and dreams brought by immigrants and darker colors representing the fear and uncertainty many are forced to live with each day.
